February 15th, 2010 Upcoming Sermon Series
Sermon Series 2010 September – October
If you’re honest with yourself, you have probably thought this: “I wish I was a saint. I want to be good. I wish I could say I always made wise, faithful decisions, but I don’t.”
And yet, you are a saint, simply because of what God has done for you through Jesus Christ. The struggle to live life as a faithful disciple is an ongoing one, a struggle the apostle Paul dealt with so deeply that he admitted it to the whole congregation in Rome. (See Romans 7: 15-25) We are Saint and Sinner at the same time.
If you want to be a Saint, but feel like you just don’t measure up sometimes (or most times!), then this Fall’s sermon series is for you. It’s called Saint and Sinner: The Everyday Fight to be Faithful. Below is a schedule for the series.
Our focus verse, 1 Timothy 6:12, comes from the Scripture readings for September 26, where Paul encourages Timothy in this daily endeavor:
“Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
